Pete is one of the two greatest athletes to ever attend Southeastern
Oklahoma
State (the other one is Dennis Rodman). Spratt, from suburban
Dallas, was
a first-team All American receiver as a senior and led all of
Division II
in receiving. He turned his attention to fighting after
unsuccessful
tryout's with the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and
Washington Redskins.
Pete made his successful debut in the UFC with a first round
victory over
Zach Light at UFC 37.5 in June, 2002. His career zenith came at
UFC 42
with a victory over Robbie Lawler, which catapulted his career and
made
him an instant title threat. Spratt continued his UFC career
battling
through injuries and suffering a few losses to former UFC champion
George
St. Pierre and current UFC super star Josh Koscheck. Pete has
since taken
some time to focus on his ground game, working with Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu
black belt Rodrigo Pinheiro. He now has a blue belt in BJJ.
More recently, Spratt won a rematch against Anthony Waldburger by
TKO in
the 1st round on October 13, 2007 at the first HDNet Fights event
in
Dallas, Texas.
Not only is Pete a world class MMA fighter, he has recently taken
Hollywood by storm. He starred in "Serum" which is now available
on DVD and he will be featured in three separate feature
films
due to release in 2008. In addition, Pete's solo release CD "Real"
can be found at Best Buy or at
bluhouserecordings.com. |
