Hey what's up everyone? My name is Colin. I'm in the the air force as a loadmaster on C-17's. Just recently became extremely interested in learning BJJ and MMA. I've watched it for forever but finally the lightbulb *dinged* on over my head and i remembered that i could in fact learn as well as watch. so when i get home from deployment i've found an academy nearby where i plan on furthering my knowledge.

Colin, welcome to the forum. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I wish you a safe return. MMA is one of those sports where the more you train the more you will enjoy watching. After you have trained for 6 months to a year, when you go back and watch fights it will be like you have never seen them. Best wishes and good to have you part of the forum.

Do they have Modern Army Combatives where you are at stationed or do they allow that when deployed?

where i'm deployed to at the moment MMA and martial arts in general are really more of a personal endeavor as opposed to somethin that is more of a requirement. there's a couple of guys here who have trained for a while so they've been helping me out and teaching me some of the basics.
